The visit to the Hunting Lodge

On Thursday morning I caught up with Dave Troupe who had taken me ice fishing all those years ago and we recalled with many laughs my first adventures wlaking on the frozen lake and my fear that when he made a fire for us to cook 'weiners' [hot dogs] that the ice would crack and I would fall through!

In the afternoon my old golfing buddy Sheila came and collected me and took me for a milkshake with another friend and then we went to visit her parents [June and Stu] who own the golf course we played on many times when I lived here.

When we went to leave one of her big dogs was missing and the other one got back in the truck all wet from swimming in the river...he shook and I got splashed with muddy, cold water!

After that Sheila took me to the Hunting Lodge she runs with her husband Scott. On the way we saw many deer by the side of the road.

Once we got to the hunting lodge I learnt all about how the hunters come from all over Canada and the USA and other countries to hunt for bear, deer and other wildlife. Check out some of the 'mounted' animals in the lodge.
